I have had an incredible college experience. I am from a small town in Pennsylvania, an hour and a half west of Philadelphia. Lancaster, my home, is an amazing array of farm land, brick houses, and winding rivers. When I got into USC, I couldn't help but feel that this is where I needed to be. So, I chose to cross the country and try out a new state at a new school where I knew a total of zero people. After four years, I can say I one hundred and ten percent made the right choice. My friends and experiences here have topped my wildest dreams and expectations. Now, with only four weeks left of school, I can't help but look back with a smile on my face. I am so proud of who I have become and the people I have met. They have made me infinitely better, and I am so thankful for that.

I accepted a job working in finance back in Lancaster. I was incredibly lucky to land the position I did and am eager to start, but being back in Lancaster means I'll be going through another drastic transition. The amazing people I have met, who have been so formative, won't be around in the next chapter of my life. So, I am heading into graduation with an unbearable sense of excitement and a good dose of uncertainty about what the future will bring. I have made it my number one priority to spend as much time with those special friends in these last weeks. I have learned how to surf with my roommate, gone on hikes, tasted new foods, had many movie nights, and laughed more than usual.

The ticking clock has reinforced my gratitude for this place and these people. I am even thankful for the approaching deadline and try and take everything with a grain of salt. I trust the relationships I have built and believe they can endure the distance. These will be an emotional few weeks, and I look forward to squeezing out every little bit.

  1. Hey Christian, interesting how you chose to go back to your home. I know I would never want to go back from where I'm from, just because I love traveling. I'm glad you got the position you wanted !

  2. Hey Christian! As a senior myself, I really relate to your post. It feels like college just flew by but I'm also ready for the next chapter in my life. I'm really glad I committed to USC and made the most out of my college experience despite COVID stripping away a year of in-person learning.

  6. Hey Christian, congrats on your new job, I'm sure it will be a great developmental experience. It is amazing learning where people come from and being from LA myself, I tend to forget how much a melting pot it is here.
